America's Constitution gives each person the right to be free. The United States was set up to defend the rights and freedom of both the majority and the minority. Neither the majority nor the minority must be allowed to stomp on the rights of the other. Government officials must not be an exception. The government must not have such far reaching power that it can infringe on the rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
As the tenth amendment of the constitution says, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." We need to keep a government which is "of the people, by the people, and for the people," so that America and our way of life "shall not perish from the earth."
